Coffee Exchange Go Zero Waste

“The packaging offers an earthy, sophisticated look, while the deli paper comes in these exciting vibrant colours, our customers notice them too and we’ve been delighted with their comments. Planglow definitely has a good understanding of our business and customers however, it’s the quality of Planglow’s products that has been the most important thing for us and our brand.

"We have a standard compost bin of around 320 litres, it takes around a week or two for food and packaging to reduce down (on its own the packaging would take longer but the food waste speeds up the process). Composting has been great for our family as we can see our waste being transformed. It’s magical to see it turning into something new and the kids love getting involved too.

"We want to show that it’s no effort to go green and that we are here to help. What’s more, when given the option to go compostable, our customers’ response is usually very positive. That said, I didn’t ever want to push it down people’s throats or for customers to feel that we’re being preachy. For me it’s more subtle than that - I want to show people that we can run a smart, successful, sustainable food business without diminishing the quality or raising costs. We’re not looking to make people feel guilty, only to make them feel good about what’s being done.”

Café At Bristol, Bristol

Kevin Collett had been with leading contract caterer Elior for five years when he moved to the then Elior run Café At-Bristol which was housed inside top science and discovery-based visitor attraction At-Bristol (now We the Curious). During this time, Kevin led the Café At-Bristol from strength to strength, securing multiple awards and accreditations for sustainability along the way. Here he shares why he chose to use compostable packaging from Planglow.

The Red River Café , Heartlands

Heartlands is a World Heritage Gateway site in the former mining heart of Cornwall. Situated at Robinson’s shaft near Redruth, the site was an operational tin mine for nearly 400 years until its closure in 1998. Reopening as a free visitor attraction in 2012, the 19 acre site included state of the art exhibitions, climb on sculptures, diverse gardens, playscape, craft studios and the Red River Café. Housed in the former carpenter’s workshop, the 130-cover Red River Café also encompassed four meeting rooms and 170-seat hall that catered for locals and tourists alike. Former hospitality manager James Curnow explained why he chose to work with Planglow.

The French Tarte: Custom Design Packaging

Choosing items from a stock Planglow's range, TFT then opted to have products custom designed by Planglow as well as to further support the brand. So a label, napkin, bio cup, deli paper and bag utilising TFT logo and colours were developed.
