How Do I Dispose of Recyclable Packaging?
Lots of our products are recyclable to On-Pack Recycling Label (OPRL) standards - just pop them in the right waste stream (paper, card, or plastic). Soaked-in or baked-in food will make them unsuitable for recycling but if there’s food on the packaging, don’t worry! As long as it’s not stuck on, a quick brush-off is all it takes - just make sure those crumbs and crusts are gone.
The OPRL’s standards are broadly aligned with the Recyclability Assessment Methodology (RAM). The RAM framework has been developed by the UK government to classify how easily packaging can be recycled. This uses "Green," "Amber," and "Red" ratings with Green being the most recyclable and Red the least. From October 2026, these ratings will be used to determine modulated fees that UK business will have to pay under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes, with Red packaging being subject to the highest fees and Green packaging the lowest.
