How to Dispose of Planglow Packaging
May 18, 2026
So, you’ve bought our packaging. It was much loved by all, but you both know that it’s time to part ways… The question we get asked next is a familiar one: “How do I get rid of it?” It’s something we’re constantly working on - giving you as many responsible disposal options as possible, meaning there’s always a route that works for you and your business.
You may already know that we offer packaging certified as home compostable (NF T51-800:2015) and/or industrially compostable (EN 13432). We also supply products that meet On-Pack Recycling Label (OPRL) standards. Below is a simple rundown of our current disposal options for these and our non-certified products, because breaking up really should be easy to do.

Collection Services for Certified Compostable Packaging
We’ve teamed up with Zap Waste Systems to make composting easier. Through Zap, you can connect with local waste providers who collect compostable packaging and take it to certified composting facilities.
How it works:
- Connect – Zap finds a suitable composting service for your business
- Collect – Compostable packaging is collected alongside your food waste
- Compost – Everything is turned into nutrient-rich compost at certified sites

Packaging Recycling Routes
Many of our products are recyclable in line with OPRL guidance; simply place them into the correct waste stream (paper, card or plastic).
Food residue? No stress. If food isn’t baked on or heavily soaked in, a quick brush-off is usually all that’s needed. Crumbs and crusts are fine to remove; packaging with deeply embedded food, however, will not be suitable for recycling.

On-Site Disposal for All Planglow Packaging (Including Non-Certified Products)
For a closed-loop, on-site solution, our partners PRM Waste Systems offer an efficient, ecological and cost-effective option. PRM’s Bio-Processors are on-site organic waste digesters that aerobically break down food and packaging waste by up to 80%. Using friendly microbes, they transform waste into a soil enricher while significantly reducing waste management costs. Simply add your waste, close the lid and let nature do the work.
