Brand Creation: The Bakehouse Deli

“Last year we decided to rebrand so I approached Planglow. We use several labels and packaging items across both sites and I remembered that they offered a branding service too so I called up Sally (my account manager). Sally is always very enthusiastic and bubbly and keeps me up to date with new products. I explained that I wanted a local sounding name that said something about the area and its history, plus a more modern look in ‘national trust colours’ instead of the dark red and blue that we’d previously had. Planglow came back with three options of names and three options of design too and I ended up going for a combination of two in both cases merging the bits I like best to create The Bakehouse Deli. And because I wanted branded packaging as well - something that didn’t look like everyone else while still demonstrating a more personal touch, we went for a deli paper, sticker and a bag too which also advertises the business when it’s taken off site.

“Eight months in since we rebranded and sales are up 25%. People are very impressed by the new look and say how much they like it. It’s changed our customer base too - it’s become more professional - which has allowed me to put my prices up by 10%. At the end of the day I wanted to show our customers how much thought goes into everything and this is precisely what it’s done”.

Café At Bristol, Bristol

Kevin Collett had been with leading contract caterer Elior for five years when he moved to the then Elior run Café At-Bristol which was housed inside top science and discovery-based visitor attraction At-Bristol (now We the Curious). During this time, Kevin led the Café At-Bristol from strength to strength, securing multiple awards and accreditations for sustainability along the way. Here he shares why he chose to use compostable packaging from Planglow.

The Red River Café , Heartlands

Heartlands is a World Heritage Gateway site in the former mining heart of Cornwall. Situated at Robinson’s shaft near Redruth, the site was an operational tin mine for nearly 400 years until its closure in 1998. Reopening as a free visitor attraction in 2012, the 19 acre site included state of the art exhibitions, climb on sculptures, diverse gardens, playscape, craft studios and the Red River Café. Housed in the former carpenter’s workshop, the 130-cover Red River Café also encompassed four meeting rooms and 170-seat hall that catered for locals and tourists alike. Former hospitality manager James Curnow explained why he chose to work with Planglow.

The French Tarte: Custom Design Packaging

Choosing items from a stock Planglow's range, TFT then opted to have products custom designed by Planglow as well as to further support the brand. So a label, napkin, bio cup, deli paper and bag utilising TFT logo and colours were developed.
