FX Plus: University Catering

Brogan Dorgan is Multi-Site Manager for Catering Services at Falmouth Exeter (FX)Plus, which oversees campus services on behalf of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter, processing upwards of 7.5K transactions a day. Here’s what Brogan had to say about our products and services.

Why did you decide to work with Planglow?

We have been using (labelling software) LabelLogic Live for many years to print stickers and other labeling products. However, it wasn’t until (Planglow account manager) Sally began visiting us in person and bringing along samples that we truly discovered the breadth of what Planglow had to offer. Her visits gave us the opportunity to see and feel the quality of your packaging solutions firsthand, and we were really impressed by the variety and innovation in your range. That personal touch and the ability to explore your products up close played a big part in our decision to start working with you.

Sally is genuinely one of the best reps I’ve ever worked with. She’s always available when we need her and has an in-depth knowledge of the packaging range, which makes a huge difference. Whether it’s helping us troubleshoot an issue or suggesting new solutions, she always comes through with practical, thoughtful advice. Her proactive approach and commitment to understanding our business make her a real asset to Planglow. It’s clear she genuinely cares about helping us succeed.

How have you found Planglow in terms of:

Understanding your business

Sally has been absolutely brilliant in supporting our business. She visits us regularly, which gives her a real understanding of how we operate day to day. By seeing things firsthand, she’s able to identify any packaging challenges we’re facing and always takes the initiative to suggest practical, tailored solutions. Her hands-on approach and genuine interest in helping us improve make a big difference—it feels like she’s part of the team rather than just a supplier.

Customer service

The customer service has been absolutely brilliant—I genuinely can’t fault it. Every interaction we’ve had has been positive, professional, and efficient. Whether it’s resolving a delivery issue or offering advice on packaging solutions, the team is always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. It’s clear that customer care is a real priority, and that makes a big difference to us.

Delivery times

The delivery times have been excellent—we usually receive our order within 48 hours of sending an email. That level of speed and reliability makes a big difference to our operations, especially when we’re managing multiple sites and need to keep things running smoothly. It’s reassuring to know we can count on such a quick turnaround.

Have you had any issues? If so, how were these addressed?

We’ve had a few instances where incorrect deliveries were sent, but these have been very rare and always resolved quickly. It’s simply human error, which can happen from time to time. What’s been reassuring is how responsive and efficient the team has been in putting things right—any issues have been rectified immediately without any disruption to our service. That level of support makes a big difference and gives us confidence in the partnership.

Do you think Planglow’s products have increased the perceived value or quality of your offering?

Yes, absolutely - they’ve definitely elevated the perceived value and quality of our food offering. Compared to the previous packaging, the new bowls present the food in a much more appealing way. The natural look and feel of the packaging complements our aesthetic and makes the meals look fresher and more appetising. Even though the ingredients and recipes haven’t changed, the improved presentation has made a noticeable difference in how the food is received by customers.

Would you recommend Planglow?

Absolutely—100% yes, I would recommend Planglow to others. The products are reliable, the service is excellent, and the team is always helpful and responsive. I also have to give a special mention to Sally—she’s a real asset to your company. She’s friendly, knowledgeable, and always on the ball. Her enthusiasm for introducing new products and her commitment to finding solutions make working with Planglow a genuinely positive experience.

LabelLogic Live is super easy to use. It takes all the elements of stress out of the labelling process (particularly around Natasha's law and food safety) and you can customise the look of the labels to whatever your business needs.

Overall, I just want to say the packaging is amazing. It’s high quality, reliable, and looks great - everything we could ask for. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into the design and functionality, and it really shows in the day-to-day use. We’re genuinely very happy with the products and the service.

Café At Bristol, Bristol

Kevin Collett had been with leading contract caterer Elior for five years when he moved to the then Elior run Café At-Bristol which was housed inside top science and discovery-based visitor attraction At-Bristol (now We the Curious). During this time, Kevin led the Café At-Bristol from strength to strength, securing multiple awards and accreditations for sustainability along the way. Here he shares why he chose to use compostable packaging from Planglow.

The Red River Café , Heartlands

Heartlands is a World Heritage Gateway site in the former mining heart of Cornwall. Situated at Robinson’s shaft near Redruth, the site was an operational tin mine for nearly 400 years until its closure in 1998. Reopening as a free visitor attraction in 2012, the 19 acre site included state of the art exhibitions, climb on sculptures, diverse gardens, playscape, craft studios and the Red River Café. Housed in the former carpenter’s workshop, the 130-cover Red River Café also encompassed four meeting rooms and 170-seat hall that catered for locals and tourists alike. Former hospitality manager James Curnow explained why he chose to work with Planglow.

The French Tarte: Custom Design Packaging

Choosing items from a stock Planglow's range, TFT then opted to have products custom designed by Planglow as well as to further support the brand. So a label, napkin, bio cup, deli paper and bag utilising TFT logo and colours were developed.

Chriskitch: Compostable Packaging

Tucked amongst the leafy avenues around Muswell Hill you'll find the immensely popular deli-cafe Chriskitch. Owner and founder Chris(tian) Honor has chefed around the world including a tenure at Gordon Ramsey's former Aubergine restaurant in Chelsea. Honor's cooking style reflects his nomadic lifestyle showcasing a fine blend of world flavours, textures and detail. Whilst investigating potential suppliers back in 2013, Chris discovered Planglow, here's what he thinks of our products and services.

Planglow is an award-winning supplier of labelling software, food labels and plant-based catering disposables. Our market-leading food and drink packaging can be disposed of in a bio processor. With sector-specific experience spanning four decades, we can help you to increase the sales of your grab and go products by improving both brand recognition and customer loyalty.
