One-Stop Foodie Labelling Solution

When independent wholesaler, Pilgrim Foodservice, looked for solutions to help their customers comply with Natasha’s Law, one option stood out for its ease of use, accuracy, and customer support. We caught up with Rachel Hothersall, Marketing Manager at Pilgrim Foodservice to discover more about their business and how they’re always there for their clients, including supporting them to comply with Natasha’s Law.

Labelling for a foodie family business

Established back in 1980, Pilgrim Foodservice is a foodie family-owned independent business based in Boston, Lincolnshire, serving 17 county councils and covering a vast area across the East of England. Although they have been around for over 40 years, their values have not changed. The focus remains on forging loyalty with customers, and from school caterers to fine dining, their client base is extremely diverse.

With their strong customer service ethos, Rachel Hothersall told us:

“We like to add value for our customers wherever we can. So we were keen to support them to become compliant with Natasha’s Law and recommend effective, reliable solutions.”

Pilgrim Foodservice had been using food data specialist Erudus for around eight years with the majority of its products on the system. Recently, Planglow joined forces with Erudus, a collaboration, which allows customers to benefit from adding nutritional data from thousands of branded items to their food labelling via the award-winning label software, LabelLogic Live.

Superior to other labelling solutions

When one of Pilgrim Foodservice’s customers mentioned the new Planglow/Erudus partnership, they looked into LabelLogic Live as a solution to help customers comply with Natasha’s Law.  Rachel told us:

“LabelLogic Live stood out compared to the other solutions on the market. It was superior to those offerings which manually provided the nutritional data. This enhanced software using the data from Erudus removes room for error and brings increased accuracy. The labelling app takes the headache out of adding the allergen and nutritional information and helps customers save time and money.

“The process is quick, easy, and efficient, offering peace of mind and accurate data for our customers. LabelLogic Live is intuitive and the interface is clear with the user in mind. The software goes above and beyond and is very competitively priced."

With their varied range of customers, Pilgrim Foodservice needed a solution that would fit all. From the least tech-savvy to large catering groups, from public sector caterers to small independents, LabelLogic Live offers a solution that works for everyone. All businesses need to get started with LabelLogic Live is a box of labels and a subscription to the app without being weighed down by startup costs or specialist equipment.

A high-tech solution with a human face

In the run-up to Natasha’s Law, Planglow offered guidance with a blog post, banners and social posts for Pilgrim Foodservice’s customers. For those customers who were not affected by Natasha’s Law, it was still useful for Pilgrim Foodservice to share information about the labelling solutions on the market, and LabelLogic Live as an app can help businesses stay up to date no matter the legislative changes.

“From the first phone call, Planglow has been outstanding. They are so knowledgeable. [Account manager,] Chris gave a great demo to show how it works and its benefits. Sometimes with software companies, they are up on the tech but fall down when it comes to people skills and customer service. But Planglow and LabelLogic Live excel in all aspects. I would happily recommend the Planglow team and the food label software.”
