Where Do I Start? What if I want to print labels myself and avoid paying for specialist printing hardware?

You can purchase Planglow labels and subscribe to our labelling app - LabelLogic Live. This allows you to create and print your own food labels using any internet connected device, and then print your labels using your office / home printer, without any specialist hardware. It prints clear labels with allergens, ingredients, Reference Intakes, nutritional data, barcodes and more. What’s more, it’s quick, easy to use and fully compliant with both current and future labelling laws no matter what changes may come.

Will I have to enter all my product data manually?

No, with LabelLogic Live you can access up-to-date nutritional data for thousands of branded products - including the full ingredients declaration and allergens in bold - directly to your food labelling. It incorporates recipe building functionally with Erudus built-in to provide seamless branded product and wholesale data which automatically highlights allergens in bold. If you already use recipe management programs, we have integrations with all of the leading recipe building management systems so you don’t have to manually reenter your data. That’s a whopping 42,000+ branded products from 800 manufacturers and 140 regional and national wholesalers right there at your fingertips.

Which of the major systems providers Planglow is working with?

Currently, this is our partners list but this is growing daily.

Does the system interface with the likes of Saffron?

LabelLogic Live does have an integration with Saffron. Please contact support@planglow.com if you would like to set this up.

Is the menu 'make up' for the BLT panini using the Planglow or Saffron database?

In our Natasha’s Law Q & A webinar, we demonstrated how to create a BLT panini label via our labelling software. It uses the Planglow database unless you are pulling in the data from a third-party programme such as Saffron.

See demo below:

What kinds of businesses is LabelLogic Live suitable for?

Planglow has been working with caterers of all sizes for 35 years. LabelLogic Live is specifically designed for the food to go sector. We have over 6,000 customers from multi-site caterers and contract caterers to schools, hospitals and independent sandwich shops and bakeries.

How do I ensure accurate labelling if I operate a multi-site operation?

LabelLogic Live enables head office to create, roll out and lock down a master database that everyone can access to print labels at site level and control localised permissions. With automatic syncing updates can be applied instantly ensuring sites are compliant at all times.

How much does LabelLogic Live cost?

You can find details of pricing here.

Will we be given an idea of monthly costs?

1 box of labels (from £50) and a £10 monthly subscription of the software to get you up and running.

What is the cost of a sheet of labels?

We have a wide range of labels designed specifically for Natasha’s Law and we can create bespoke labels as required. For further information, please visit our shop. If you would like to contact an account manager please drop us an email info@planglow.com

Can you ensure that the font size is correct for Natasha’s Law in LabelLogic Live?

Yes, you can set a minimum font size. This should be around 7pt  to meet the requirements depending on the printer and font you are using. We recommend measuring a print out of the labels to ensure compliance. The ingredient list has to be a minimum font size where x-height is 1.2mm or more. If products have a packaging surface less than 80cm2, in which case the x-height can be reduced to 0.9mm.

During our demo in a recent webinar, we showed how easy this is to achieve in LabelLogic Live. See below for further details:

In layperson’s terms, should the font be 8pt in size to meet Natasha’s Law?

It all depends on the printer and the font you’re using. In general, size 7(pt) should be fine but we recommend measuring a printoutfuture  of the labels to ensure compliance.

What if I’m already using a third party recipe?

Planglow has partnerships with all of the leading third party platforms to enable seamless integration of ingredient and recipe information into LabelLogic Live. If you are using a third party recipe management platform, we can link your accounts so that you don’t need to duplicate data entry.

Is my software futureproof ? What happens if there is a compliance change? How easily can you change your labels fonts, fields, label templates etc.

With LabelLogic Live, you can be reassured that your software is always futureproofed and always legally compliant. The app is browser-based meaning that any legislative changes can be applied - instantly.

Is my wholesaler listed with Erudus?

A full list of companies using Erudus can be found here.

Can you add cooking instructions and add ingredients that are not on the database? E.g Our meat is ordered by a butcher, how can that information be added?

Yes, with LabelLogic Live, you can add all your own ingredients. Give them a name, enter any declarations or nutritional values. They will then be searchable within the system along with the other ingredients in the database.

What is the cost of setting up/accessing LabelLogic Live?

1 box of labels (from £50) and a £10 monthly subscription of the software to get you up and running.

Is there an additional cost in setting up bespoke labels?

Please see our artwork pricing for creating and printing bespoke labels here.

Do you have Bidfood information available?

This is in development. Sign up to our newsletter for updates.

Can you use any printer to print labels, or do you work with specific brands?

Yes, any standard office printer will work. The only requirement is that the printer itself supports a paperweight of 170gsm. You need a connection to your device - either cable or network. And you're ready to go!

For products that require strict recipes, does LabelLogic Live allow labels that can be done in advance and manually write dates on them?

Of course! We can do calculated dates, or remove the printed date so that you can use a date gun.

We have over 90 products, can Planglow create our labels for us and, if so what is the cost? This will hopefully ensure all is correct!

We provide the labels and software and you create the recipes for each product. This may sound daunting however with LabelLogic Live it is simple to do and once you have set up your products you are good to go. Our built in database of ingredients ensures the accuracy of the data.

To give you an idea of monthly costs, our labels start at £50 per box, subscriptions to LabelLogic Live are offered on a monthly or annual basis.

Can I download all my product data sheets to be used on a PDA that my staff use when taking orders? This would allow them to answer specific product questions from customers.

Good idea! Yes, LabelLogic Live allows you to download pdfs with allergen and ingredient information.

Do you know of a company that could produce labels on a small scale for us. We may only need to use 20 per week for example.

Our solution is ideal for small operations as you only need to purchase one box of labels (from £50) and a monthly or annual subscription of the software to get you up and running.

Are there any contingency plans allowed if I.T. systems fail. Food businesses can not practically produce handwritten labels and are 100% reliant upon a system solution.

Are you able to confirm that there is a solution in place using ProcureWizard data, please?

It is vital to ensure that all the technical aspects of the integration are spot-on. We are very close to making these integrations work. Look out for updates on our site: https://planglow.com/our-partners

Do you have access to another platform for small-scale label production? We do not need an integrated platform and recipe/meals info, just a way of typing in ingredients and printing.

Our solution is ideal for you as you can add your ingredients yourself.

Does Planglow also supply the packaging? - e.g. for made on-site salad boxes.

Yes, Planglow offers a wide range of award-winning compostable packaging for food businesses. Search our shop.
